Day 142-48 "Glimpses of Beauty Not Yet Lost?"

As Glimpses of Beauty approaches the half way mark, I feel like it's time to write & reflect. I am also listening to one of my all time fave albums, "Takk" by Icelandic band Sigur Ros. Listen to this album. It is beautiful and great reflective music if you are looking for reflective music.

Anyway, Glimpses of Beauty, a project inspired by Lithuanian/American film maker Jonas Mekas. I never did write and say this. But yes, this project is inspired by Jonas Mekas. I first discovered him many years ago, maybe 10 years ago, when I purchased a book titled Just Like a Shadow, which comprised of his film stills. I  loved this book from the moment I purchased it, and it is like a very close friend of mine. In the book, was a series titled "Brief Glimpses of Beauty". There was also another series titled "Paradise Not Yet Lost". Between the 2 concepts, I started to think (recently of course) about the idea of "Glimpses of Beauty" and the idea of "Glimpses of Beauty Not Yet Lost". I very much wanted to incorporate the 2 somehow. In some ways I hope I have with this project, as I really believe a reason behind this project is the idea of preservation. Is that arrogant of me? I don't know.

But whilst this project is heavily inspired by Jonas Mekas, I hope that my version of Glimpses of Beauty is different. It would be really boring if it was the same. But this project for me is about so many things. Apart from preservation as mother nature and ourselves can be so destructive, it's like a form of therapy, it's about educating, it's about doing, it's about relating and it's about sharing. So, here are the newest photographs I share with you. Glimpses of Beauty? Art? I don't know...
