"Photographs 1961-67"

As of yesterday, I have been engrossed in a book titled "Photographs 1961-67" by Dennis Hopper.
This book has become my latest inanimate friend.
It weighs easily 5kg or more and I have been carriying it along with my camera wherever I can.
I read, I stare, I imagine, I feel inspired, I feel, I love it.

Can you imagine what it must have been like to have a camera back then and being able to capture the likes of Warhol, James Dean, Marcel Duchamp etc...It's incredible.

I also love how Dennis Hopper explains his choice to photograph in B&W in a time where colour film was this new craze.

I also love how the book explains where Dennis Hopper came from and how he made the choice to step up and pursue and discover life and art.

I love this book and look forward to revealing more. I really wish I could post photographs, but now is not the time. There are still many photographs to be taken and a lot of editing to be done, whilst learning the art of focus.

Till next time here is a mental image:

I open up my blue and yellow crumpler bag.
I try to pull out my Dennis Hopper book which is at the exact same length of my bag.
I struggle to pull it out.
As I succeed, I stumble.
I sit on a patch of grass, by a tree. It is cold, but it is soon forgotten as I escape to Mexico
and the USA via the pages. The photographs and words inspire. A smile appears as i imagine.
